With the Webpage Parser, you can process webpage data efficiently, enabling smooth interactions between various applications and systems. This feature empowers you to handle webpage content dynamically, making it a valuable addition to your automation toolkit.

Here is a Step-by-Step Guide to Help You Set Up Your Webpage Parser with FlowMattic

Step 1: Create a New Workflow

Go to the FlowMattic Dashboard, where you can manage and create workflows. To start a new workflow, click the “New Workflow” button located in the top-right corner of the Dashboard. This will begin the process of creating your new workflow.

Step 2: Add the Webpage Parser as an Action Step

  • Click the “+” icon in your workflow to add a new action step.
  • In the search bar that appears, type “Webpage Parser” and select it from the list of available actions. This will add the Webpage Parser to your workflow, allowing you to proceed with its configuration.

Step 3: Choose the Action Event

The Webpage Parser offers two action events. Select the one that suits your requirement:

  • Parse Webpage by URL : This action parses the content of any webpage URL and converts it into JSON data. This enables the data to be utilized in subsequent workflow steps.
  • Get Metadata : This action retrieves metadata such as meta tags from any webpage URL. This is particularly useful for SEO analysis or webpage indexing tasks.

Step 4: Configure the Settings

  • Enter the publicly accessible URL of the webpage you want to process. Ensure the URL is accurate and accessible, as the parser will directly retrieve data from this location.
  • Depending on the selected action event, the parser will either extract the webpage content or retrieve its metadata.

Step 5: Test and Save Your Workflow

  • Run a test to ensure the Webpage Parser is working as expected. Confirm that the webpage content or metadata is parsed and ready for use in the next steps of your workflow.
  • Once the test is successful, save your workflow. You can now utilize the extracted data or metadata in other actions or processes within the same workflow.
